What is the Chamber of Commerce?
The Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of citizens who are investing time and money in a community development program - working together to improve the economic, civic, and cultural well-being of the area.
Businesses, individuals, and organizations are all eligible to belong to the chamber of commerce. Dues are structured so even the smallest business can be a member.
Members finance the work of the chamber, based on their abilities and interest, with a broad scope of opportunities to serve.
Chambers are composed of volunteers serving as committee workers, directors and officers. Professional staff devote efforts to build strong organizations and carry out the policies determined by the Board of Directors to best represent the interests of the membership.
What does the Chamber do?
The chamber is a service and action organization for business. It provides a venue through which people can take effective action for the progress of their communities.
It helps create job opportunities through the stimulation of industrial and commercial growth. It also seeks improvements in community infrastructure and human resources.
It brings conventions, sales meetings and other gatherings to the area. Improvements in schools, parks, highways, and community marketing are also the work of the chamber.
Chambers work to improve the viability of free enterprise through business input to the political process.
In all of these functions, the chamber is a partner of every business and professional person in the area.

How Does My Chamber of Commerce Work for Me?
Retailer: It works for growth and new development translating into new money to be spent in stores and works on promotions.
Service Establishments: Again, it works on creating additional demand through growth.
Manufacturer: It conducts retention activities addressing workforce, infrastructure and business environment concerns.
Construction, Real Estate, Investment & Insurance: It provides expanded markets and networked access through "newcomer" access.
All Members: It provides representation and leverage to impact the bottom line.
"The goal of your chamber of commerce is to promote the commercial, industrial, civic, cultural and general interests of your city and region. To accomplish this, action committees explore every avenue and possibility. These committees usually include those working in the areas of industrial development, civic affairs, retail promotions, and natural and human resources. Every individual, firm and professional derives direct benefits in a growing, stable economy. Such economy is the result of your chamber's efforts."
